What causes sleep anxiety?

Do you think of a long list of things to do or pondering about unresolved life issues right before you go to sleep? You may experience anxiety and stress which prevent you from falling asleep. Take a minute to write down the “things to do” list and other unresolved life issues. Imagine yourself placing this list on a “shelf” to be handled in a more appropriate and productive time. Practice a mantra and visualize a relaxing scene. Meditate and be mindful of a relaxed breathing, as you inhale and exhale. You may want to add some exercise during the day so that you are more relaxed at night. Even a 20 min walk may reduce stress, anxiety and allow for relaxation and a good night’s sleep.
